Jennifer Letellier | Naturopathic Doctor Category
Meet Jennifer!
Dr. Letellier received a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from The National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon, an accredited naturopathic medical program. She currently practices in Durango, Colorado and holds her ND license in New Hampshire (Colorado is actively pursuing licensure).
Interest in natural medicine started at a young age as a result of being the daughter of a chiropractor. She moved from her birth state of New Hampshire to Colorado in 1996 to enjoy the mountains and search for change. During her time in Colorado she has lived in Fort Collins, Winter Park, and Boulder, where she completed a 6 month whole foods culinary program. Her path brought her to Durango in 1999 to finish a bachelors’ degree in art from Fort Lewis College. Since that time, Durango has always felt like home to her.
As a naturopathic doctor she helps patients facilitate their journey in healing, brings awareness to a model of health and shifts it away from a model of disease, strengthens respect and relations across all medical professions, and in due course, contributes to the healing of our planet. Through questioning, hard work, perseverance, and dedication to becoming an exceptional doctor, she has learned that healing has a much deeper meaning than is often recognized. In pursuing that deeper meaning she has found a way of doctoring that she trusts is truly changing the foundation of health.
Dr. Letellier treats both acute and chronic conditions. Her strong passion for treating the root of illness results in restored health and prevention of disease, and brings about a sense of wellness that the patient may not have realized was possible. Healing is a journey and even though a patient may be free of symptoms rather quickly, that is ultimately not the goal. Only treating symptoms is merely treating the ‘tip of the iceberg’. The true goal is to chip away at the part of the iceberg that is not seen, and is responsible for the body’s expression of symptoms. By working in this way it has the ability to affect the foundation of ones long-term health, restoring the body’s optimal physiological functioning, and riding the body of dis-ease.
Since healing takes place at home as well as in the office, it is part of her work that she empower patients with the knowledge of how to bring health back to their lives. Dr. Letellier believes that healing is possible not only on a physical, emotional, and mental level, but also on an energetic level which is equally as important and often overlooked. Dr. Letellier practices primary and preventative Naturopathic Medicine, with a focus on homeopathy, nutrition, and physical medicine. In addition she has had extensive training and experience in biotherapeutic drainage and core synchronism.
Personally, she strives for balance between a passion and dedication to her profession and her enthusiasm for an active life, which includes a love of the mountains and the outdoors. To recharge her spirit and maintain good health, she spends most of her time hiking, backpacking, snowboarding, cooking, practicing yoga, and exploring new places with her Mastiff, Izze.
